My research skills have definitely been improved due to the fact that last year not much research was needed, however regarding the music video intense research was needed into the music industry- past videos/artists were researched. Also, different genres were explored as we wanted a good grasp of the music industry as a whole- and not just specific to one genre.
For our AS footage we looked at the mise-en-scene very briefly because not much input was needed, whereas our music video is much more complex and needs attention to detail. I have spent a lot of time researching into dress code/ mise en scene for 50's inspired clothing: we have decided on floral, vintage being our ongoing theme throughout the video. Also, regarding the mise en scene we watched a range of videos and focused on just what the artists were wearing, because our artist is female we focused on female artists such as Beyonce, Leona Lewis and Christina Aguilera. For example Beyonce in the 'why don’t you love me' video wears floral- this is a 50's inspired outfit and another artist which looks at 50's/60's is Christina Aguilera. We used Youtube to watch/research different videos.

The camera skills which I gained last year were further enhanced in A2 media as i had grasped the basics last year and now am able to use the traits learned without hesitation or needing to ask what to do. i.e if I need a panning shot I am able to film it without hesitation- whereas last year I had to ask for assistant first, and then film.

Last year we were introduced to Adobe premier pro; I learnt to do many things on Adobe. I learned how to import clips, how to change the speed of the clips which gave it the fading, slow motion effect which is used throughout our film on many occasions. Furthermore, I also learnt how to arrange and cut these as were appropriate. I also learnt how to create titles. Better transitions can be made on Adobe, also; you can use wider range of effects for both audio and video such as putting a picture onto the timeline and placing text easily over it. The skills which i obtained last year were really useful this time round in terms of uploading/editing footage as i had previous knowledge so didn't waste time in trying to figure out what to do.

Due to filming complications we have decided to switch times of when we film our music video. We have decided to design our digipak first and then when our singer is available (next week) we will film our video, we are well prepared as we have our storyboards on hand and have booked the venue in advance. Kayla and I have looked around the venue and sorted the clothing/image of our singer and also the theme of the rooms-vintage is the over all ongoing theme throughout.
The only thing we could do to avoid falling behind, was to design the digipak. Today, we started designing our digipak. We decided on the 6 panel didgipak as it would be ideal for the CD; conventional yet innovative as more images can be printed and information about the CD can be added on the cover which is ideal. Also, i played around with photoshop to see what effects we could use on our CD cover, i havent come to grasps with the programme just yet, but i will carry on trying to learn how to use it and hopefully our digipak should be complete by the end of the week!
This is the digipak we have looked at, and would love ours to be similar:
ofcourse ours will have a different overall look; the front cover will be different, the theme/colours will be different, also; the font and image will also be drastically different. This is just an example of a 6 panel digipak.
We have exprienced a few minor difficulties with our filming; our original leading lady was unable to take part in the filming, and pulled out at the last minute-lierally. However, Kayla and I have found a girl who has the image and appearance that we were looking for. The clothing/image is vintage and floral, we have also got our locations ready and have already started filming our performance pieces.
