Storyboard: narrative and lyrics

After Kayla and i had planned our storyboard and decided what scenes would be were it was decided that i'd draw the storyboard; we also decided in order to make it simpler for us that we should sort out the time sequences by listening to the actual song whilst drawing the storyboard.

"Well there is something going down
Like the storm in the sky"
For the opening scene we have decided to have a performance peice of 'Rosanna' on her own dancing infront of a bright colour wall (orange or lime green)

"I ain't gonna be played by your behavior
How can I trust someone who's lying to me, so..."
For the second shot of the video; Rosanna will be dressed very 50's in order to get the era across to the audience; an old checked shirt, hight wasited denim hotpants, red lispstick, rollers in her hair, thick black top-liner and a bandana in her hair. In this scene Rossana will be dusting the fire place/cleaning coffe tables etc. bending over giving a cheeky element to the video. We will use close ups of her face to show the expressions and hands.

 "Bow out, go!
Now I said bow out, leave!"
This shot will be identical to the opening scene however, she will be singing towards the camera engaging as if the camera is the ex-boyfriend she is shouting at.

"I said take your stuff and go,
'Cuz you're not for me"
This scene will be shot in Rosannas bedroom where she will be throwing her ex boyfriends clothes around and onto the camera, again shouting/singing directly to thh camera as if it was her boyfriend. The narrative element relates to the lyrics.

"Mama knows best when times get hard"
'Rosanna' and her mother will be in the kitchen, Rosanna will be sat on the dining table 'sulking' as her mum shouts at her; we will speed up this shot to add a comical element.

"And papa always has a joke to make me laugh"
Leading on from the previous scene Rosannas father will enter the kitchen smiling and joking around trying to cheer her up. A close up shot of the pair hugging and smiling will be used.

"Mama knows best when
I feel down"
This scene will consist of a range of shots; a long shot then a zoom in into a mid shot of Rosanna and her mother sat on her bed.

"to bring me up
And always keep my feet on the ground"
This will be a short snappy shot of Rosanna stomping her feet on the ground
"Say I know know know
That you can pick up and drop,"
This will also be another perfromance element of the video. Rosanna will be performing on a stage with a spotlight and an audience. When the lyrics for 'that you can pick up and drop' begin Rosanna will do a movement with her hands in orr to relate to the lyrics. she will be dressed in a 50's style long dress with big hair, looking glamorous.
"And all of this inconsistent love
I think it's about time that it stops"
Again, this scene will be a solo performance of Rosanna on her own, singing directly to the camera. When she sings the the lyric 'stop' she will put her hand out and cover the camera as if to make a 'stop' gesture.

So bow out, go!
Now I said bow out, leave!
I said take a bow and go,
'Cuz you're not for me"

This scene will be in her bedroom looking to the camera with an attitude, throwing clothes around, the camera will follow her around her room as a tracking shot and the scene will end when she abruptly slams the door.

"Mama knows best when times get hard"
This shot will be evry simple yet effective. We will have a close up of Rosanans face looking sad.

"And papa always has a joke to make me laugh"
This shot will bne a close upof her face laighing, smiling and covering her face to add a cheeky/girly element to the scene.

"Mama knows best when
I feel down, to bring me up
And always keep my feet on the ground"
This will go back to the performance element; on the stage with her singing into a microphone.

"Just keep the best of ma'
Daddy said to me
Always use humor as your therapy, yeah"

-This will be a shot of Rosanna and  her father in the kitchen again.

"Don't ever take life too seriously"
This will go back to her in her bedroom with Rosanna giving the atittude to the camera, lip syncing directly to the the camera and then smiling.

"Just do you, 'cuz you do you so perfectly"
Here we will go back to the solo performane element where she is singing to the camera with a bright coloured background.

"Mama, mama knows best
Daddy, daddy knows best"
The final scene will be of 'Rosanna' dressed in a long glamorous dress having fun, dancing around, laughing, being playful towards the camera and 'messing around' on the stage.
